Urban and Park Land Management

Monarch City

    In 2022 the City of Clemson received Monarch City USA accreditation and began to plan and establish pollinator beds across the City. Specifically targeted towards Monarch Butterfly migration. 

    This is an intentional meadow that was established on City property at the entrance of the Sedgefield neighborhood on Berkeley Drive.  This planting is a partnership with volunteers, Meg & Joey Williamson. Landscapes like this provide a wide range of benefits for the community. They also reduce our carbon footprint, reliance on fossil fuels and usage of herbicides necessary for maintaining traditional turf and landscapes.

    This is a site map indicating current and future pollinator meadow locations. The orange dots represent current meadows or meadows that are in the design or establishment phase. The red dots reference future meadow locations.
